Why Krispy Kreme are not offering free doughnuts to vaccinated people in the UK
The coronavirus pandemic has led to so many stores being closed down due to the regulations. 2020 saw so many public places close down to minimise human interaction. The development of the vaccine led to a lot of hopes amongst people who wanted to get back to their normal lives. However, the one thing that shocked many people was the fact that many people did not want to get the vaccine. There were so many conspiracy theories on the side effects, and most people were getting scared that the vaccine was a hoax. To encourage more people to get the vaccine, Krispy Kreme offered free doughnuts to anyone who got the vaccine in the US. The move saw more people get vaccinated.
No free doughnuts for the UK
Now that UK residents are getting the vaccine as well. There were hopes that they would get free doughnuts as well but the spokesman for Krispy Kreme said they will not be offering free doughnuts to vaccinated people in the UK.
Front liners getting priority
In a statement from Krispy Kreme, the spokesperson said that they are concentrating their efforts on free doughnuts for front line staff in the UK and can’t accommodate free doughnuts to vaccinated people aswell.
Although this was met with a lot of complaints, the promotion will still not run in the UK.
While the decision was met with a lot of grumbles, it seems like the only people getting vaccines and free food are US residents. The rest of the world just has to be content with being protected against a deadly virus.
