Sainsbury’s have announced that shoppers are now able to collect Nectar points on the shopping they do at Argos, both in-store and online. This will begin on 16 September 2020 and you can collect one point for every pound that you spend. Nectar points will be awarded on any purchase from DIY, health and beauty, home, toys and garden ranges. You have been able to spend points at Argos for some time now, not this is the first time shoppers have been able to earn them at the store.
It is also expected that there will be special offers from both Argos and Nectar that will allow you to collect double points on certain items during promotional periods.
How Do You Collect Nectar Points When Shopping At Argos Online?
You will need to sign up for an Argos account, or log in to the one that you already have. You can then add the details of your Nectar card to your account profile under the ‘Ways To Pay’ tab.
Once your card is linked to your Argos account, then you will be able to collect points on your purchases and spend them. It can take up to 30 days for Nectar points that you have earned to show in your account.
How Do Collect Nectar Points When Shopping At Argos In-Store?
You can collect points at a stand alone Argos store, or one that is inside a branch of Sainsbury’s. You will need to have your Nectar card with you, or the app on your phone. Either of these should be presented to the colleague at the till when you make your purchase.
If you have ordered an item on reserve and collect, then you should show the card or app when you pay for your purchases. Points collected in-store can also take up to thirty days to show on your account.
How Do You Spend Nectar Points In Argos?
You can spend your Nectar points in an Argos store or on their website. When you purchase a product through Argos, 500 points is worth £2.50.
If you are shopping online, you will need to make sure that your Nectar card has been added to your account. You should then be able to use your points when you check out. The minimum amount that can be spent is 500 points (£2.50).
If you are shopping in-store, then you will need to tell the cashier that you want to spend some of your points. Again, the minimum amount that can be used is 500 points.
Unless the points on the card over the whole purchase, points can only be redeemed in increments of 500. The rest of the balance can be paid by cash, card or by Argos gift card.
The maximum amount of Nectar points that can be redeemed at one time is 40,000 which is equivalent to £200. This is the same whether you are redeeming your points online or in-store.
