Morrisons to remove ‘Use-by’ Dates from their milk range and encourage customers to ‘Sniff Test’

Morrisons are planning to get rid of ‘use-by’ dates on most of it’s milk range to help prevent food waste.

The ‘Use-by’ label will be replaced by a ‘Best-Before’ label on 90% of Morrisons own brand milk and the supermarket will encourage customers to do a ‘sniff test’ to check if the milk they buy is spoiled.

The new best-before labels will be introduced at the end of January and the Supermarket hopes it will stop millions of pints of milk going to waste.

Senior milk buyer Ian Goode said:

Generations before us have always used the sniff test – and I believe we can too.”

Will this be a good move for Morrisons? only time will tell.
