Beauty on a Budget Guide

The cost of beauty is big business now, by the time you have added in eyebrows, eyelashes, hair, nails and tan not to mention the trips to the barbers, the upkeep can cost £100s every month. Not everyone can afford that salon price tag but it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the treatments and the pampering here’s a few hot tips on how to achieve that salon beautiful look without the salon cost.

Research the local beauty colleges in your area…

Theses are a great way to get budget friendly treatments, most colleges will have a working salon offering all kinds of hair, beauty, and holistic treatments, having a working salon allows the students first-hand experience of dealing with clients. All treatments are supervised and monitored so there’s no need to worry about and mishaps. You can bag a cut and blow-dry for as little as £10, a full head of highlights for just £31 and even a deluxe facial for £12, prices will vary from area to area these are just a general price, so you can see just how little you are paying.

Look out for salons requesting models…

All salons have apprentices that instead of doing their training full time at college they will be doing work-based training and salons always need models for them to practise on and even for the to pass assessments. Like with colleges all treatments are monitored and supervised so there is nothing to worry about. Most salons will offer free treatments or usually you just pay for the cost of the products used around £5-£10 normally. The difference with this to a college though is there’s no flexibility with what’s on offer they will usually advertise for a specific treatment such as short cut and blow-dry or full head colour so if its not something you fancy the hold off and keep checking until a treatment you do fancy comes up.

The DIY approach…

While you can’t cut your hair at home and changing a hair colour may be a risky move you can certainly do facials, manicures, pedicures even eyebrow waxing and tinting and even nails at home, there’s no need to splash out of expensive products the cheap ones can often be just as good. Set yourself a budget of maybe £10 and head into your local Poundland or home bargains and see what items you can pick up for your budget pamper night, why not invite the girls round open a bottle of wine and have a pamper party.

Check the yellow sticker areas…

Everyone knows the cost of makeup can be astronomical with many of us simply not being able to afford the top end ranges but by regularly checking the clearance areas in places like Boots and Superdrug you may just pick up dome high range makeup for low range price.

Give the cheaper ranges a go…

Yellow sticker areas can be pretty hit and miss so if you’re after a new selection of make up try brands such as Revolution, they are budget friendly with a great range of products that are very good quality. Their website often has very good offers on which may just be worth a look.

Check out Groupon…

Groupon is great for finding spa days, pamper packages and treatments at a reduced price, you can search by your area and see what’s local to so you don’t have to travel far. Unless you find a brilliant deal then it may just be worth the travel time.

There’s no shortage of ways you can have all the treatments you desire without having to break the bank to get them, its just about getting creative sometimes and doing a little but of research.
